Bachelor of Visual Art (Honours) and Bachelor of Design Arts (Honours)

Applications
Applications for the above Honours degrees are considered twice a year, in May and October. Visit the ANU Admissions webpage for details of closing dates.

All applicants must submit an Honours Proposal with the Application Form/s specified below; requirements for the Proposal, and the address for submission, are detailed on the application form.

Applications should be lodged by the due date, late applications may be accepted but will attract a late fee.

Prior to application, contact the Honours Convenor, Patsy Hely (patsy.hely@anu.edu.au, 02 6125 5804) for information regarding the program and advice re developing a proposal.

 

Selection process
Applications for entry to School of Art Honours programs are assessed on prior academic achievement, and on the merit of the submitted Honours Proposal and Portfolio.

To be admitted, a candidate must have successfully completed three years of the Bachelor of Visual Arts or Bachelor of Design Arts to the value of 144 units, or an equivalent course from another University; have completed program requirements normally at the level of Distinction, and have had their Honours Proposal approved at School and Faculty levels.

Applicants may be required to attend an interview and present a portfolio.

 

Students completing Third Year at the School of Art
Current School of Art students in their final semester, or those who have completed the third year of their degree within the previous two years, should apply on the School of Art 'Supplementary' application form available from: http://www.anu.edu.au/sas/forms/.

External Applicants
Candidates from other institutions apply directly to the University to be admitted to the Honours program. An 'Application for Undergraduate Admission', should be submitted, along with the 'Supplementary Application for School of Art students' (http://www.anu.edu.au/sas/forms/).
