Orientation week begins on 16 February and the School's Orientation Day, beginning at 9am in the School Lecture Theatre (upstairs) is Friday 20 February.

General information
A key point for information is the School Office, open from 8.45am - 4.45pm daily and closed for lunch between 12.30 and 1.30pm.

Where to eat and drink
Within the School, Chat's Cafe is open from 8.30am - 4.30pm during semester. Other buildings close by also have coffee shops, the Music School, Film & Sound Archive, the Street Cafe, and the Union complex. Around Marcus Clarke st. adjoining the University, you'll find many small coffee shops, restaurants, supermarkets pubs and bars.

Occupational Health and Safety
Please note that students are not permitted to work with materials, processes or equipment with which they have not been fully trained and authorised, nor are they allowed to work alone in the studio outside class times. Workshop staff will provide further Workshop-specific information.

After hours access
Pick up the form from The Shed located near the School of Music - opposite the parking lot behind the School.  Note there are separate forms for undergrads and postgrads.  Form must be signed by Head of Workshop and returned to The Shed.

Reading Bricks
Pay for these at the Faculty office and pick up from Art Theory office, or from your Art Theory lecturer.  You will need to show them your receipt.

Useful initial contacts

Undergraduate Convenor: See the Convenor for assistance with program construction, course choice advice, and any problems you have that are impacting on your study. Appointments can be made at the School office.

Core Studies Coordinator: See the Coordinator about any issues related to your first and second semester Core Studies courses. Phone or email to make an appointment. The Cores Studies office is on the left hand side of the inner courtyard before the doors leading to Chat's cafe and the Gallery.

Honours Convenor: the Convenor can provide you with information and assistance with all Honours matters. Make contact as soon as you begin your program. Phone or email to make an appointment. The Honours office is in the small corridor immediately to the right of the main School entrance.

Graduate Convenor: the Convenor can provide you with information and assistance with all graduate matters. Make contact as soon as you begin your program. Phone or email to make an appointment. The Graduate Office is immediately to the left of the main School entrance.
