Current visiting Artist

David Hamilton in residence in the Sculpture Workshop since late July will hold an exhibition of recent work titled "Beyond Object" in the Foyer Gallery at ANU School of Art opening Wednesday 16th September at 5.30 pm. David lives and works in the Tamar Valley near Launceston, Tasmania and much of his work is inspired by this environment and his concerns for it. Current research focuses on the temporal, spiritual and conceptual space that surrounds the physicality of the object and how the form and quality of an object can influence the reading and subsequent interpretation of that surrounding space. David has exhibited internationally and works between studio and commission sculpture as well as photography.

Rossalin Garst from Chiang Mai University in Thailand is the current resident in Sculpture and will exhibit her art work with Staff and Post Graduate students from the ANU School of Art, Sculpture Workshop. The exhibition, "The Dog Show" is open to the public from 2-6 June in the Foyer Gallery ANU School of Art and will be officially opened by the Head of School, Mr Gordon Bull  at 6.00pm Monday 1st June

“Skyler”, a Thai Ridgeback is the subject of much of Rossalin Garst's recent work. Rossalin presents us with astute observations about the nature of the bond between humans and dogs and through humour draws attention to the nature of companionship and personalities. Rossalin works across the mediums of sculpture, drawing, printmaking and painting.
