This course is normally undertaken on a two-year full-time basis, although part-time study is available in some Workshops. Qualifications for entry to the Diploma vary from workshop to workshop, but in general, the candidate is expected to have some existing expertise in their specialist area. The course places heavy emphasis on skills acquisition and practical knowledge, and is designed to further a particular area of knowledge in a specific Workshop discipline.

A candidate qualifies for the diploma by completing units in one discipline offered by any of the School's nine workshops to the total value of 96 credit points
