Blanche Tilden is a Melbourne based jeweler and glass artist.  Beginning her studies in 1988 at Sydney College of the Arts, she completed a Bachelor of Arts degree at the Australian National University School of Art Glass Workshop, and a Graduate Diploma in the Gold and Silver Workshop.  In 1995, she was awarded an Australia Council traineeship to work with Susan Cohn at Workshop 3000 in Melbourne, and in 1998 went on to establish her own workshop.

Blanche was the recipient of the Stephen Procter Fellowship in 2003. In May 2003 Blanche travelled to Seattle, USA, for three months where she worked collaboratively with artist James Minson. The fellowship also allowed Blanche to attend the Glass Art Society’s 33rd Annual Conference. She also participated in a Flame working Master Class with Shane Fero at the Pilchuck Glass School.  On her return to Australia, Blanche undertook a two-week residency at the Canberra School of Art Glass Workshop and had a joint exhibition with James Minson at Craft ACT, Canberra.
