Sotiris Dounoukos, is an Australian based filmmaker, raised in Canberra, who has attracted international attention after screening extensively at international film festivals. Sotiris’ shorts have screened at over 180 festivals around the world and acquired numerous sales and awards. Dounoukos is visiting ANU School of Art as a part of the Photography and Media Arts Film Group.

Before Dounoukos began his career in film making, he studied and graduated from art/law at the Australian National University. For the full article on Sotiris Dounoukos see ANU alumni.

Film director Mr Sotiris Dounoukas and film Producer Donna Hensler will be using Photography and Media Arts as the home for their independent feature film production Joe Cinque’s Consolation, based on the Helen Garner book about the manslaughter of Joe Cinque by an ANU student in the 1990s. Sotiris and Donna will be mentoring Photography and Media Arts students and giving them professional experience on feature film production. The film will be shot, partially on campus, in April.
